studied Sociology, Communication Science & Phonetics and Educational Science at the University of Bonn and earned a degree as Master of Arts (Magister Artium, M.A.) early 2005. Additionally he became a certified project manager in February 2006.
From 1998 to 2000 he worked as a student research assistant in the European project Integrated Cooperation-Management in Network-Organisations (InKoNetz) at University of Bonn, Germany, Institute of Computer Science III, Research Group on HCI and CSCW (ProSEC). Between 2001 and 2005 he was active as student research assistant in the Research Group Evaluation & Design of Cooperation Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT, Germany.
Since January 2007 he is a Researcher at the National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) at the University of Manchester (UK) in various national and international research projects. Applying qualitative & quantitative methods, CSCW and Participatory Design his research activities encompass adoption, use and evaluation of socio-technical Systems (modern ICT, e-Infrastructures, e-science & e-social science, GRID technologies) in diverse domains of research and higher education, and also user-driven processes in the development of modern e-Infrastructures and software applications.
